e all know the story of the First Passover (Exodus 12) when "the Lord struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt," but passed over the homes of the Israelites who had followed the directions given by Moses.

All Jewish men are under a command from God to teach their sons how to earn a living so they don’t become thieves, beggars, and destitute homeless persons.

Deuteronomy 32:46-47 -- Keep in mind all the words I am solemnly proclaiming to you today! You must command your children to observe carefully all the words of this law. For this is no idle word for you! It is your life! By this word, you will live a long time in the land you are about to cross the Jordan River to possess.

Jesus emphasizes the priority of putting God first not only in his pronunciation of the Great Commandment, but also in Matthew 6:33 -- “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.”

James 1:22 – “Do not merely listen to the Word. Do what it says.” [JHK Note: Take a look in your Bible Concordance – immediately after “Word” comes “Work.” Noah got the Word to build an Ark and then spent a hundred years doing the Work to build that Ark and so saved himself and his family from the Flood Judgment by FOA = Faith – Obedience – Action.]

John 4:1-42 -- Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at a well in the city of Sychar. This is an extended episode resulting in many converts, but also contains this important exchange: “The woman said to him, ‘I know that Messiah is coming’ (who is called Christ). ‘When he comes, he will tell us all things.’ Jesus said to her, ‘I who speak to you am He.’”

There is a resonance between the Old Testament and the New Testament, and a primary example of this is the relationship between Moses & the Four Books about Moses in the Old Testament .. and Jesus & the Four Books about Jesus (the Gospels) in the New Testament.

Genesis 1:28 – “God blessed them and said to them ... ‘Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the Earth.’”
