GOD OF LOVE AND FAMILY
April 22, 2026EASTER: The Turning Point of History * The Resurrection Was Unprecedented
Easter changes everything! Two miracles: Christmas & Easter. Incarnation & Resurrection.
1 John 4:16 – “God is Love! He who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. * “Greater
love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” (John 15:13)
Psalm 100:5 – “The Lord is good, His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endues to all
generations.” Psalm 119:68 – “You, Lord, are good and do good.”
1 Corinthians 16:14 – “Let all that you do be done with love.”
Ecclesiastes 12:1 & 6-7 – “Remember your Creator in the days of your youth. .. Remember
your Creator before the silver cord is loosed” because when death comes, “the dust will
return to the earth it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.” (Genesis 2:7)
John 1:1 & 14 – “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was
God. .. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory
as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
Colossians 2:9 – “All the fullness of the Deity [Godhead] lives in bodily form in Christ Jesus.”
John 14:28, 24, 10, 31, 6 – “My Father is greater than I. * The Word which you hear is not
mine but the Father’s who sent me. * I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father
who dwells in me does the works. * As the Father gave me commandment, so I do. * I am
the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” * “He
who believes in me believes in Him who sent me, and he who sees me sees Him who sent
me. .. I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.” (John 12:44-45, 47)
TBQ: What is our responsibility? [Responsibility = Ability to Respond] “Go and make
disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.” (Matthew
28:19-20) “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15) “It
was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day. Now preach
repentance and remission of sins in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem, for you
are witnesses of these things.” (Luke 24:46-48) “As the Father has sent me, I also send you.
.. He who receives whomever I send receives me, and he who receives me receives Him who
sent me.” (John 20:21 & 13:20) “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come
upon you; and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and
to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
Jesus accomplished two great things. He gave his life on the Cross as a willing sacrifice for
our sins. (Isaiah 53, Luke 22:41, John 1:29, 10:17, 5:26, 12:27) And he gave us an example of
living a life of love and service to others by washing the feet of his disciples. (John 13:1-17)
Jesus also led a very active life – teaching, preaching, and healing. (Matthew 4:23)
