Did You Know that There Were Two Passovers?
October 14, 2025TEN SECRETS TO SUCCESS KNOWN TO ALL JEWISH MEN
- All Jewish men are under a command from God to teach their sons how to earn a living so they don’t become thieves, beggars, and destitute homeless persons. They also have to teach their children how to swim, which is a very practical commandment, if you think about it.
- HONESTY is absolutely critical in all business dealings; because if one is not honest, sooner or later he or she will be caught and suffer the consequences! As you ponder this, consider the acronym “HIT” = Honesty, Integrity, Transparency. If all are like this, none will fail -- and everyone can TRUST everyone else. In fact, TRUST is essential at all levels of activity. Every dollar bill and coin in United States currency bears the words “In God We Trust.” Trust between husband and wife if founded on FIDELITY. Trust between leaders and followers is called LOYALTY. And so on. Many times Scripture tells us that God hates unequal weights and measures.
- All Jewish people are taught to HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE TOWARDS MONEY and a positive relationship with money. For money is not the root of all evil! Money is a medium of trade and thus of neutral value. Evil comes from the HEART. Evil feelings, evil intentions, evil words, evil deeds. Or good emotions (love, compassion, benevolence, care) lead to good intentions, good words, good deeds.
- Jewish people are taught to help their neighborhood, their faith community, and their homeland.
Never be jealous, envious, or hateful towards others. Support their success! Share their joy! And grieve if they are sorrowful, as do Job’s three friends when they first come to visit.
- TITHE !!! Always give ten percent (10%) of earnings / income / increase to charity. This keeps one humble before God, grateful for God’s grace, blessing and bounty, and at the same time, enables each of us to help those less fortunate. Tithing also encourages a person to make more than they personally need, for the best reason for excess is to help others.
- It’s always better to be an owner than an employee or laborer! It’s always better to be an owner than a renter. This encourages individual responsibility and independence.
- “Don’t do to other people anything you would not want them to do to you.” This is another way of phrasing The Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Think about it. If you are in my home stealing my TV, there’s no reason for me not to be in your home stealing your computer! Examples abound, and “chat groups” can be encouraged to come up with many.
- Keep one-third of your money in cash, one-third in real estate, and one-third in inventory, so that if there is a failing in one area, there is rescue elsewhere. (“Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.”)
- Observe Sabbath rest. In the Genesis Creation Story (Chapters 1 & 2), even God rested on the Seventh Day; and as Jesus says, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.” This is God’s way of assuring “a day of rest” in which we do no “work” at all that is normally associated with earning a living. It is a day of rest & relaxation with family and friends in your community, as well as a day of meditation and study of God’s Word. Furthermore, by resting on the Sabbath, one is ready and refreshed to go back to work the next day!
- “IN GOD WE TRUST” -- We trust that God is our Father, that God loves us, that God wishes only good things for us, and that God will bless our business endeavors, so we are willing to take calculated risks. God will also bless and protect our families, friends, and relationships, so we are free to do good and avoid evil. (Jeremiah 29:11)
JHK Note: The longest of 150 Psalms is #119 -- a paean to the virtues and rewards of obedience to God’s Word -- precepts, maxims, proverbs, teachings, laws, ordinances, testimonies, statutes, and commandments. “How sweet are Your words to my taste! Sweeter than honey to my mouth!”
